Trip Report
Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge — Sunday, Apr. 9, 2017

It was a warm and mostly sunny Sunday. Like many other Pacific Northwesterners, I was desperate to get out on a trail, but I did not have the courage to face the crowds in the Columbia Gorge. This was a good choice. The trail is short and was quite muddy in places. I did it twice to maximize miles. And I love big oak trees that look like they are poised to reach out and grab me, so I was happy. The trail was nowhere near crowded, also a bonus.
