Trip Report
Greenwater and Echo Lakes — Sunday, May. 21, 2017
Mount Rainier Area > Chinook Pass - Hwy 410
We only went as far as Greenwater Lake, so about four miles round trip. So this report reflects that portion.
Road in is all paved. There is an outhouse at the trailhead, and it was pretty clean as far as those go.
The trail is in excellent shape. The only minor problem was about 1 mile into the hike where there was a lot bridge that has a pretty good lean to it. It was very stable, but it may make some people nervous. Use your judgement and be safe.
There was mud on the trail, but if we keep having this awesome weather, it should be gone soon.
Overall, this portion of the hike was super easy and not a lot of elevation. Not exactly flat either, but I wouldn't call it hard. There weren't a whole lot of people on the trail, which was an added bonus!
