FS Road 90 is a little tough in spots past the junction with Curly Creek road. down to one lane in spots due to trees and rocks. The gravel section would be a challenge on a motorcycle. But any car with normal clearance would make it.
We opted to do the short hike (.5 mile round trip) to the lower falls from the campground and then drive up to middle falls to do the middle to upper loop. This also turns an eight mile round trip to a four mile round trip hike and allows you to see all three falls still. This makes the hike doable with youngsters.
The trail is beautiful. Old growth trees, high cliffs and the raging Lewis River and falls. There are a couple of spots leading up to the upper falls that you must watch little ones because of fall hazards, but this should generally be a great family hike.
