We took a family trip up to trout lake, and didnt plan on going any further. The journey there was short and fast. It is a good beginner stretch, since the climbing part is over relatively quickly. My wife and I both carried out babies in backpacks and didnt have any difficulty. As its memorial day weekend, it was absolutely packed. All the campsites were full at the lake. It seemed that the majority of people stopped here to camp. If you make the trip up to copper lake, i'm sure it's much less crowded.
There's some cool streams, mountain views, and wildlife on this trail. There's evidence of where they logged, with some pipes randomly coming out of the ground on the trail etc. Overall a great hike and we'll be back to make it all the way to big heart!
