Caught the 7:10 ferry out of Edmonds and managed to make it to the trailhead before 9:00 when only 7 other cars were there. It was a steady uphill hike the entire way, but we managed to make it to the top in less than 2 hours. After a lunch and a brief nap, we made it back down before 1:30. It was a splendid day to go hiking. The temperature was just right and it was nice and sunny throughout, allowing us to see all of the noteworthy peaks in the Olympics and the Cascades. All in all, a relatively strenuous, yet great hike, on a well maintained trail. Of note, this appears to be a very popular hike even on a Thursday. We encountered lots of people and by the time we made it back down there were at least 20 other cars in the parking lot.
