Drive up was pretty bumpy on my Subaru Tribeca. Passable just go slow. Trail was also pretty darn fantastic, I'd suggest poles. They'd for sure be nice. Couple trees down, nothing terrible. One thing, bring water shoes so you can cross one creek. You can find ways around but it's faster to just slog through it with water shoes.
One other mention, there's one good camp spot right on the lake. The rest are up the hill an 8th of a mile or so. Cheers!
