Olympic Peninsula > Hood Canal

Wow! What a quick fun hike. This hike is not for the faint of heart though it is steep(signs at the trail said about 20% grade most of the time) but it is a very rewarding hike on a clear day there are several views at both the north and south look out at the top. From the north lookout you can see out over the straight of Juan De Fuca and from the sounds you over look the hood canal, Seattle and Mount Rainier. It took my wife and I, with me carrying my 7 month daughter in a back carrier and hour and a half to reach the top with a few short rests. And 40 minutes to get back to the bottom where the truck was parked. The trail was in great condition, there was plenty of parking and the bugs only started to swarm a little if you paused for a short period on the trail and were standing still. Make sure to bring plenty of water though there is no water source anywhere along the trail and on a warm day you will want it as this hike will make you work to reach the top!
