Lord Hill Regional Park — Tuesday, Jul. 18, 2017

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area
Temple Pond

Looking for a place nearby for a quick morning hike, I decided to check out Lord Hill Park, which, for me, is just under 30 min from home. Arriving at the Main Entrance parking lot at 7:30, I was the second car in the lot, and was fortunate to have the trails completely to myself until within 500ft of the parking lot on my return. Lord Hill has a vast network of multi-use trails, having never been here before, I mapped a roughly 3.5 mile loop, past Beaver Marsh Lake, to Temple Pond and back. There are branching trails everywhere ready for exploring, and I was very happy to have the picture of the trail map I snapped at the entrance to keep me on my chosen route. Somehow misinterpreted the map and missed the turn to get to Beaver Marsh Lake, instead ended up staying on Lakeside to North Temple Pond Loop Trail, made the rest of my chosen path with no issues. Signage seems inconsistent, but there are occasional maps laid out at major trail crossings. Lots of variety of nature and trails to explore if you're looking for a quick hike or walk in the woods without the drive.
