I hiked from the south trail head to Maple Grove. The road leading up has a couple of small pot holes, but nothing to worry about. The trail is in great shape and the new bridge is great! Maple Grove campground is in great shape I arrived around 1PM and found a spot. By the late afternoon all the spots were taken. The views of Mt Baker were beautiful (the smoke from BC fires is finally settling).
A swim in the lake was very refreshing once my tent was set up. A few families made the hike with their kids (baby to teens) so it's definitely a family friendly get away.
