Took paved (but only at first) Suiattle Road. I hate driving washboard, potholed, roads and this was no exception. The trail is maintained, lots of recent tread fixes, with some impressive drainage work (and a neat suspension bridge at about 5 1/2 miles in). Good camping sites both at the trail head and the bridges. Went another few miles to the PCT junction, then hiked south to the most impressive old growth grove I've ever seen. The bridge crossing to get there there is short its troll sign, which I was disappointed to see. Smoke was keeping the light hazy so we opted out of the hike up miners ridge to image lake and the lookout. Met two rangers on our way out who were hiking in to close and winterize the lookout. All in all it was an easy, small elevation, 21'ish mile overnighter!

Wow, those are very impressive trees. About how far the trailhead are those beautiful beasts?

Seriously, I would greatly appreciate any information regarding the location of these trees and how to get to the most impressive old growth grove!

I think the PCT junction is about 9 miles in... check the map, it's not too far after the suspension bridge
