Hidden Lake Lookout — Sunday, Sep. 24, 2017

North Cascades > North Cascades Highway - Hwy 20

Took some Washington newbies to Hidden Lake Lookout this past weekend and it did not disappoint.

Road: The last 4 or so miles from Cascade River Road to the trailhead is rough with some potholes and blind turns, but if you drive slowly most cars will be fine. We made it in a Toyota Matrix easily.

Trail notes: The trail to Hidden Lake Lookout consistently climbs uphill, but the incline is gentle and steady, so it does not feel like you are working too hard if you're in any sort of hiking shape. Right now fall colors are starting to show and there was a light dusting of snow (less than an inch) at the very top of the trail. We snacked on ripe blueberries on the way up and down the trail!
