A beautiful day hike to Lake Ingalls for this party of 5 gals. The road into the Teanaway was open; there was a portable road barrier across the turnoff, but you are allowed to go around, and the road was open to the end. Some evidence of the firefighters still at work, and just a little bit of smoke in the valley. No smoke at altitude. Saw one mountain goat on the way up the ridge. Larches were on full golden disply. At the ridge the snow was 8-12" and it was a bit tough going down the north side into the meadow, with snow covered rocks. Trails were visible; it wasn't hard to follow previous hikers, although we saw just one other party of 2. We had hiking boots, but Treks would have been handy. Very glad we all had poles. At the lake, the weather started coming in and by the time we were back down to the ridge, it was snowing pretty good. Bring all your warm winter gear- we used it all. A great day out in the mountains.
