Great shoulder season hike - the fall colors are near their prime right now. We started and ended at Wilridge Winery, which is an unofficial trailhead of the Cowiche Canyon and Upland Trails, but has some great perks! We dropped down the first mile into the canyon, headed upstream along Cowiche Creek for several miles, and then started up the upland ridge loop, turning first onto the Lone Pine Trail, then following the newly laid out connection to the East Uplands Trail, and then looping back down to Cowiche Creek prior to the climb back to Wilridge Winery. Great views all along the ridge, and the fall colors dropping back into the canyon were awesome. In total, a 7.5 mile loop with 1,100 feet of elevation gain, and some great wine to taste at the end of the trail!
