Practically snow free until about the last half mile to the first lake. Snow is only about 4" at the deepest right now. Some of the small trees & brush are laying down over trail near lake & create obstacles, but still passable.
The creek crossing can be tricky--probably not good for kids. There are a couple different log crossing options, all slick & will get your heart beating a little faster. If you have microspikes, they'll help with gripping the log & safely crossing.
Be careful on the boardwalk--some of the boards are rotted, broken, falling in.
Beautiful fall colors, no avy danger yet.
