Cutthroat Pass via the Pacific Crest Trail — Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017

North Cascades > North Cascades Highway - Hwy 20

Well I planned my trip at just the right time to see the larches in fresh snow. I got to the Rainy Pass trail late on Saturday evening and hiked the first 3.5 miles in snow. It took me about 2 hours to reach the Cuttroat camp When I arrived I was greeted with 5 friendly campers with a nice warm fire and good conversation. (thanks guys for great conversation and it was great meeting you all). The next day I hiked to the summit in about 8 inches of snow to maybe 2 feet in drifts. It was an awesome trip the larches were at their peak and it was even better with snow on them.
