The Drive:We followed the driving directions as given, turning into the paved parking area at 11.8 miles. The road is nearly completely paved to this point with the exception being a stretch that is graded and graveled. Some snow/slush on the road but quite drivable. Toilet at trailhead is closed for the season, no parking permit needed at this time but is required spring through fall.
The Hike:Crossed the bridge and turned left. The trail follows along the river a short ways before twisting its way inland touching the river again in a few spots. The leaf strewn trail is easy to follow. Snow, slush, mud in some areas created no problem without traction devises. Streams were no problem either though the last could be a problem if the water had been higher. We headed back before reaching the Dingford Creek Junction. Not sure of mileage, stopped for lunch about 1/4 mile past what looked like a washed out bridge. Many happy dogs on the trail.
