Mount Rainier Area > Chinook Pass - Hwy 410
What a little gem! We went for sunset, and the lake reflections were absolutely exquisite! The water was glassy, and the open sky was stunning. And what a great trail to explore all the little side paths. It's almost winter time now, but I imagine that this place is crowded in the summer. Lots of parking (which closes at dusk), and everything seemed to be very well maintained. Moss covered trees, fern carpeted forest, the trail had slight elevation gains and drops along the way. Not stroller friendly, but a great trail for little legs. A small playground is near the parking lot, and lots of picnic tables surrounding the lake. Such a great spot!
