The road leading up to the trailhead was socked in with new snow, approximately 5 miles away from the actual hike starting point. My friend and I decided to hike up the road until we felt like turning around. The snow was a little more than ankle deep with snowshoes on and we were making our own tracks until a few snowmobiles came through. Based on my GPS, we did about 6 miles RT but not sure how close to the trailhead we had actually gotten. Very nice day, however, and the snow was really pretty!
