Issaquah Alps > Tiger Mountain
Poo Poo Point by Mindful Hiker
Arrived at the parking lot for High School Trail and The Rainier Trail at 11:45am. This small parking area is about a minute’s drive south of Issaquah High School. It only holds about six cars. All spots were full, but we luckily grabbed one of the three street parking spots near the lot. Reached Poo Poo Point at 2:10pm. Took a bit longer than expected since legs were a bit weak from previous day’s hike. Great views of Squak and Tiger Mountains. Started our descent back to the parking lot at 2:55pm and arrived before dark at 4:40pm. We had enough light and didn’t need our headlamps. Clocked 7.6 miles at 2,073 elevation gain, and it was a steady incline almost the entire way up. The hiking poles definitely helped with the incline and also provided stability for the slippery descent. There were a couple forks in the trailhead that were not marked so thankfully my downloaded map from AllTrails helped ensure we were on the right track. This trail also seemed popular for trail runners so be alert and kindly step aside as they run past. Have fun and enjoy!
