Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass

Holy Fork! Did we get a solid workout today. We brought micro spikes and were very sad a few miles in when snow shoes were definitely warranted. Clearly lots of fresh powder since last hikers. Snow pretty much whole way up. Deeper as you go. Knee deep for a good while and given we were the first ones since new snow this meant plowing through it, at first a solid calorie burner, hours later very aggravating. The forest heard our irritations. Few times sunk in hip deep. We barley made it. We sat for a much needed break and quickly arose to leave because the cold made our fingers feel like they were being stabbed with tiny daggers (in snowboarding gloves). Lake is frozen over and of a breathtaking blue color. Not thick enough to walk on for sure. Our iphones logged 9+ miles. Wonder where the discrepancy is... well b back for sure. Don’t attempt this without gear.
