Lena Lake — Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018

Olympic Peninsula > Hood Canal

Despite the rainy weather, had a lovely hike at Lena lake today! Arrived at the trailhead at 10:30 to a couple other cars in the lot - we passed a few other hikers on the trail, but not many. The first half of the hike is criss-crossed with quite a few streams (some following the trail), so make sure to wear good waterproof hiking boots! The incline is very gentle, and we never felt out of breath. There's a bit of snow higher up, but it's largely slush, and not worth any concern other than as an extra sparkly addition to the beautiful view of Lena lake at the end of the trail. Took just under an hour and a half to get up, an hour to get down. And excellent, easy winter hike!
