Middle Fork Snoqualmie River — Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018

Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area

This was a great rainy-day hike. The forest road is paved all the way to the trail head, however the bathrooms are closed for the winter. The trails is definitely wet and muddy at times especially with all the recent rain fall. The only warning I have is that at about the 2.5 mile mark you will hit a small stream about 6 feet wide that has its bridge pulled back for the winter. The water is probably about a foot deep, you can get across but its not ideal. I found a small downed tree to use but for those who are risk adverse, have small kids, or dogs you may have to turn around at this point. Maybe .15 miles past that however there is a much larger water crossing you must make. This one has more boulders to hop across but its much wider and will keep those less adventurous at bay for sure. I was able to make it across no problem but again it all falls down to your comfort level. Know your limits and turn back if needed no shame in being safe, no one wants to be that guy on the news needing an air lift out.
