Hike 1 of 2. Got to the trail head at about 11. The South fork river is was raging! The wide and nice trail is a good mix of uphill and level - completely snow-free, of course, but a little muddy/slushy in places. There are lot of places to go down to the river. After about a mile or so, you veer away from the river, and start climbing. The falls are amazingly voluminous this time. You cross the falls over a bridge, and the trail continues for about another mile or so, and runs into the flat railroad grade Iron Horse trail - which connects you to multiple other trails (closest one being Mt. Washington - been there/done that before). Today, I just went back down the same way and reached trail head in about 1.5 hours. Then, decided to drive over to the Cedar Butte trail head (report). There was light right, but the tree cover helps.
P.S. If anyone found earbuds, please let me know. Thank you.
