it was a rainy day and I chose to stay low because of avy risk and enjoy the sights and sounds of the North Fork Nooksack. the river is *really* moving and this hike certainly showcases the rapids and power of the river. there is good canopy so it is a great hike on a rainy day and there are enough ups and downs to keep it interesting. There are some muddy sections and trail is a bit slippery in spots. Also, in the bend area, there are a few blowdowns on the trail. Nothing that is unmanageable, but went off trail a few times to avoid obstacles. It is a beautiful hike - enjoy it!
