Got to trailhead around 9AM, road and parking lot had some snow but no ice. The trail had some snow from the very start, but it didn't get above a few inches until reaching the bridge (roughly halfway through). Going up towards the lakes there are several feet of snow, but the trail was mostly packed - lots of people going up that way today! There are a lot of creek crossings, most of them are very shallow although there are a few wider/deeper ones. We made it all the way to the second lake just with boots even though we saw a few people going up the trail with snowshoes on the way back. Poles were very helpful.
I've never been on this trail in summer but the snowy views were super pretty - especially the second half of the trail with views of the mountains.
