Granite Creek Trail to Granite Lakes — Monday, Feb. 19, 2018

Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area
The road to the both trailheads can get pretty icy in the morning but maybe it was just because of the fresh snow. The trail was snow-covered beginning at the trailhead and continuing the whole way up. I brought snowshoes and saw several groups with them as well but I never swapped out of my microspikes. Trekking poles, good boots, and microspikes should be plenty good for the trail right now. There are probabably 20-25 small stream crossings that for the most part, can be crossed over no problem. One stream at the end after the turn off to the lake that requires a little more careful footwork to get over without getting wet but with good boots should be fine. The lake was beautiful, definitely a great way to spend President's day.
