Trip Report

Lord Hill Regional Park — Friday, Mar. 9, 2018

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area
Found the south parking lot open again as it had been in January. So it seems we no longer have to park on Old Tester Rd. Yay! Tried the riverside trial just off the parking lot but too wet. Took the Quarry trail up to the junction with the Main trail. Some muddy spots but trail in good shape. The big beaver lodge is still there just off the Quarry trail. Next we hiked the Liquid Bread trail up to the View Point. Saw Indian Plum in bloom in many places. (Spring!) Had a nice picnic at the viewpoint. Saw lots of Cascades but Rainier and the Olympics were in clouds. Took the pipeline trial back and noticed the Midway footpath which we never saw before. Saving that for next time. The long cut trail that avoids the too steep pipeline section was very muddy the last 10 minutes or so. Heard lots of frogs, birds and alas 522. Attaching latest iteration of the Snohomish County map of Lord Hill
