Trail was in great condition, however, there was much more snow on the trail than I had expected based on the previous trip reports. Although it was doable with just my hiking boots, I wish I would have brought my microspikes and trekking poles. Not having either of these tools slowed us down tremendously. There were several areas of the trail covered in ice and it was pretty slick. As usual, the view of the lake was amazing and eating lunch next to the water in the the mountains was the best way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon!
