Amazing views, well worth it. BUT an extremely crowded trail. Felt like thousands of people. There's hikers with canvas shoes and no water, pretty unsafe considering this is the mountains. Public service announcement, don't be that hiker that gets stuck up here in WA's changeable weather, seriously..
While I love Lake 22 for its photography opportunities, moderate/short trail length for this type of scenery, and ease of access from Seattle - start early. Like 6:30 or 7A on a weekend, will get better light and limited crowds then.
Parked down the road at the picnic area. The main lot may be full on a sunny day and especially with this San Diego-esq weather Seattle has been having.
Trail had snow/ice the last 1/4 mile but is doable with a hiking pole and proper hiking boots. Routefinding is not an issue at all.
