Hoh River Trail to Elk Lake — Thursday, May. 17, 2018

Olympic Peninsula > Pacific Coast

Did a quick trail run up the Hoh while camped at the Hoh River Campground. I ran just over 6 miles up and then the same distance back.

It has been 15 years since being in this valley and it didn't disappoint. The deep and vibrant greens were totally stunning. Elk prints and scat all over the trail, though I wasn't lucky enough to see them.

There are zero blow downs from the trail-head up to 6 miles. There are places where the river has eroded areas of the trail so others have blazed a boot track to the north of the river. Other than this, the trail is very straight forward and simple to navigate.

Get out there!
