This 800-acre forest preserve is conveniently located between the towns of Kingston and Poulsbo near the community of Indianola. The White Horse entrance is less busy than the Miller Bay Road entrance. A walk/hike can be as short or long as you like. Large stumps from old-growth logging stand like sentinels among abundant sword ferns and other natives. There is a handy map at https://spf.kitsapgov.com/parks/Documents/NKHP_TrailMap.pdf. Trail junctions are very well signed. Access to the White Horse entrance is through a golf course housing development with parking for about 6 vehicles. Only one other slot was filled today.
