Had to park a mile from the new official trailhead due to the obscene waterbars. The trail was destroyed by logging years ago, then the "trailhead" was moved back by about a mile so now the "trail" starts on an overgrown swampy logging road. Hiked 2 miles just to reach an actual trail. After that it is old growth with views of logging and clear cuts all the way down to Dry Creek. After Dry creek the trail is again a road all the way to the Shady Lane Nature trail where it again turns into a nice trail with old growth.
Would like to talk to someone who hiked from the pass down to camp comfort before that section was destroyed by logging.
