We hiked with a group of 9 to catch the sunrise. We ranged from people who don’t hike often to a few who hike at least once a week and a dog. We started at about 3 am and made it the top before 4. The lookout is very well maintained and has multiple cots for sitting inside. All the windows are in tact so it’s perfect to get out of the weather conditions for a bit. The sunrise was incredible and the view of mount Rainier is amazing. It’s a beautiful view 360 degrees around. There are a few snow patches left once you get to the top but micro spikes aren’t necessary and a couple of the people we went with had no problem crossing it with tennis shoes. Going down around 6am the snow was getting slightly mushy but not difficult to walk on. Great hike!
