We drove forest road 1302 to the lookout. It was good until the last mile or so. After that I would say you would want to have a high clearance 4 wheel drive vehicle. Road is very rough and rocky most of the way. Spectacular views in all directions into the Tieton Meadows, Lost Lake, Rimrock Lake, Goat Rocks, Mt Rainier and even a bit of Adams on the way up. I know this isn't a hike, but wanted to post some updated information as there are no recent trip reports. The fire lookout is quite ugly, but if you are trying to see all the remaining lookouts in Washington or just want a fantastic view, this is a great location.

I'm confused as how you took NF-1302 to the lookout. I'm not super familiar with the area but I'm looking at a map and can't make the connection. I'm looking to drive there and would love if you could give me a little more details. Thanks in advance!
