Wow, that trail looks pretty clear of snow. Did you see any on your way up before you had to turn around? And were able to drive to the end of the North Fork Tieton Road? The FS website says there's a washout at the junction with the 250 spur road about a third of a way past Clear Lake.
Sorry to hear about your calf muscle -- hope you're healing well!
Hey Anna---Yeah, we wanted a snow-free hike and chose this lower elevation hike. Did not see any snow for the 3.8 miles up (wish there was some--because it was hot!). And yes, the trip report before mine said the road was open all the way to end (It had been fine a few years ago, too...didn't see evidence of washout).---it had been closed for a few years (last time I road my bike after the closure). So yeah, these trails are now good to go. I wanna try Bear Creek Mountain from this side---looks like a burly climb!
Thanks for getting back to me. That trail looked pretty snow-free but good to have confirmation from ya. And I can't believe I missed that note about the road in the trip report before yours. D'oh.
Bear Creek Mountain is definitely on the list, but I bet there's still snow up top -- 7337 feet is pretty high in the air!
Yeah, it's up there, but in the photo, it looks like there are some melted sections (and this was looking at the north-facing section). So I'd be curious to give it a go soon! :)
