Hiked Goat Peak today to do some conditioning. My belated first hike to celebrate summer vacation - late but still worth it!
My trip report from last summer (June 22, 2017) pretty much summed up today's hike - you can read it here:

Everything was pretty much the same, a beautiful day to be out on the trail. It is still a steep trail, that's for sure. The first half mile and the last half mile are the worst, so stick it out and you will be rewarded!
Trail is 100% snow-free. I saw no animals and no humans.
My GPS again said 6.2 miles round-trip, 3160 feet elevation gain, topping out at 6450 feet.
Similar time frame this time - left Yakima at 5:15am, started hiking 6:30am, reached top at 8:30am. Dozed and snacked in the sun until 9:15am, back to car at 11:00am.
So great to be out in the woods again - I forgot what I was missing!
