We took an evening hike to Talapus Lake. The last quarter mile or so before Talapus has quite a few mudholes, but it looks like a reroute effort is underway. The bugs at the lake were noticeable, but thankfully a bat came out to eat some of them as twilight approached. I felt like I heard an elk grunting across the lake, but I didn't see one. May have been wishful thinking on my part.
