Wow, what a beautiful view. The beginning of this trail is in the lush forest but you can hear the ocean most of the way to the beach. After about 2 miles you climb down some wonderful switchback stairs. My wife thanks the people responsible as she dreaded the rope that was the way down previously. This was the first overnight with my 10 and 11 year old and they are hooked. We saw a beautiful forest then, wow what a beach. The incredible coastline is worth the visit. We camped about halfway to the arches where a large tree must have been deposited on the beach for us. It made a perfect place to sit and hang out. The walk to the Point of the Arches was beautiful with little caves to explore and lots of sea life to look at. This is a great hike for the little ones as it is pretty much flat. Walk close to the water and the sand is much firmer to walk on with a pack. Good water at Petroleum creek. Next time I think we will stay an extra day.
