Larrabee State Park - Rock Trail — Saturday, Jul. 7, 2018

Puget Sound and Islands > Bellingham Area

Hiked this past Saturday afternoon, July 7. Started at the Cyrus Gates Overlook and followed the Rock Trail, which then connected with the Lost Lake Trail and took us to a small clearing with a view of the lake. As noted in previous reviews, this lake outlet usually forms a waterfall. It was dry when we visited, though the rock was still damp and muddy.

!!!!! PLEASE NOTE !!!!! Directly behind the lake viewpoint is a steep 100ft drop-off where the waterfall typically is. DO NOT approach the top of the waterfall, as it is VERY easy to slip on the smooth, muddy rock, and there is nowhere to catch yourself before the quick drop-off. Please be careful.
