Hiked to Fremont Lookout hoping to see the Space Needle. We did see Mt. Baker, Mt. Adams and Glacier peak but clouds moved in during the early afternoon and covered the city. Great hike--moderate in distance, elevation and with lots to see. Come early and avoid the crowds. Keep your eyes open--two fat marmots on the trail as well as many chipmunks. Beautiful flowers just beginning to bloom.
If you look up at the mountain, toward Camp Sherman, you will see the climbers creeping up to spend the night prior to attacking the summit that night/early morning. We spotted at least 4 parties of 6-7 climbing the glacier on the side of Steamboat Prow.
