The view from the top of Mount Ellinor is stunning and well worth the steep hike. I started early (4:30am) on the lower trail head to see the sunrise and skip the crowds on this notoriously popular trail. There was no snow or downed trees on the path, and no water to speak of, so bring enough for the whole hike.
I added the Big Creek loop trail to extend the my day a bit, which was a very nice, bridge and river filled trail. It was pretty cloudy, but if it wasn't there seemed to be some good viewpoints of Mount Ellinor and Mount Washington.
I didn't run into many people, but I did start really early on a Friday. It was well worth the exertion to the top, and if you want a longer hike, Big Creek is a nice addition.

That first shot to the north of Mt Pershing and beyond is great!

Is the road paved or just rocks? Can a sedan drive it without issues?
