Trip Report

East Fork Foss - Necklace Valley — Friday, Aug. 31, 2018

Central Cascades > Stevens Pass - West

Note:  BEWARE OF BEES around mile 7 of the trail, there are two places  people were getting stung here.  I was the only one in our group that avoided getting stung. We warned multiple other hikers as they approached, most of them had already been stung that day or the previous day.

Backpack up Foss River and into the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. Lots of fish caught on the river below and even more above, in the lakes (Emerald & Jade). Explored the lakes, fished, visited the cabin, loo with a view, and picked berries for oatmeal the next day. Ran out of time to explore and fish more lakes before heading back down the trail.

Trail is in great condition, be prepared for a lot of high stepping. No obstacles. No trouble at any creek/river crossings.  Lots of people up here, but it was a 3-day holiday weekend.
