Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass

My son (8 years old) and I did an overnight trip up to Rachel Lake over the weekend. It rained on us most of the way up and when we got the lake it continued to rain and the wind really picked up. Seemed 10 degrees colder at the lake. After setting up our tent, we tried to cook dinner to warm up but found that my fuel wasn’t working well. Also we found out that there are no fires allowed at the lake. Both of us were freezing and decided to head back down in the valley to get out of the wind and have a fire. Found a great spot about 1.5 miles down from the peak, managed to get a fire started with wet wood, warmed up a little and went to bed. The next day we woke up to dry weather and even some sun. Had a great rest of the hike back Sunday.
