Walked this trail with my 10 year old on a beautiful fall day with minimal people and no wildlife sightings (which was appreciated because we were a bit apprehensive after learning that nearby Dosewallips State Park had a mother cougar & two cubs sighting at the campground a week ago). We huffed and puffed to the top on an immaculate trail with very few stone steps. The view at North point was lovely (although quite windy). The view at South point (just a flat, half-mile walk further) was the true winner with Mt Rainiee and Seattle in the distance and gorgeous hood canal. This was a great hike and is highly recommended.
