Lower South Fork Skokomish River — Monday, Nov. 19, 2018

Olympic Peninsula > Olympia
The Lower South Fork Skokomish

Last day with sun predicted, we wanted to have an outing.  So, based on a suggested list from WTA, we packed up our low carb lunches, made our tea, put on our warm clothes, and headed out to the Lower South Fork Skokomish trailhead.  We had complete solitude as we went up and over the ridge and then down to the riverside. This was the prettiest part of the trail, because as it continues upstream, it moves away from the river and stays away.

After about three and a half miles, we found a lovely log in the sunshine at the top of a cliff overlooking the river, and stopped there for lunch. Because of the sunshine, we lingered and simply enjoyed the sights and sounds of the old forest.  Very nice indeed. After that, we returned the way we came and felt pleased that we had such a nice late autumn outing.
