I organized a meetup hike to Cherry Creek Falls, so we had a small, but diverse group of people coming to do this one.
We started around 9am at the trailhead and hiked for about 2hrs. It was drizzling a little, but that was okay because most of this trail goes through a forest. I purposefully chose this hike because in ideal conditions it is easy for people of all ages and abilities. However, there was a lot of mud on a trail and stream crossing was challenging in places. We had an elderly woman in her rainboots and it was very slippery for her to cross over the logs. We added more rocks in area where you have to step into the creek to cross. Nothing too deep, but nobody wants to get wet this time of a year.
Falls are really bustling with a water now, and we made a quick stop there, but the drizzle and water from the falls made it too wet for us to sit and eat snacks at the falls.
This is an okay mid-week hike because the parking on the street is very limited. Or you should arrive early if you plan to hike on weekend. In summer, this hike is popular with families and people with dogs, so be prepared for that. Do not go if it has been raining too much over past few days, as the stream crossing can be a challenge. Or be prepared to wade through water.
