Trip Report

Lord Hill Regional Park — Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area
Quarry Bowl, looking N.

Last weekend, I brushed the Midway N. a bit and cleared the branches from the recent windstorms. There is a big double blowdown just north of Hidden Pond that is too big for me to handle. It is right at the intersection with the Midway Cut-off. Easy enough to step over, although one side is a pretty big step. Wouldn't hurt my feelings if someone sawed through it...

Today, I decided to check out the Midway S.  Parked at the south lot off Tester Rd. - only one there. Brushed the trail again on my way to the Viewpoint, and took care of several blowdowns. Didn't re-check the north section, but I believe the entire trail is clear. A couple new step-overs, but you won't even notice.

Windy today; and there were already new branches on the trail when I left. Feel free to flick them off as you go. If there were twenty branches on the trail, and twenty hikers happened by that day, and if each one cleared just one branch - the trail would be clear at the end of the day. Just sayin'...

(Sorry about the boring pics. I ended up working more than exploring today.)

No thanks are necessary - it's my pastime.
I'm not the only one. It's a user maintained trail, and I would like to point out the guerilla trailwork done by other individuals. Don't think I don't notice! It's a joint effort, and I appreciate the help.

Thanks for your hard work on that trail, and the trip reports. If it wasn't for those I would never have vertured off the Pipeline!
