Pratt Connector to Pratt River Trail — Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019

Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area

This was my first time on this trail and won’t be my last. Bright green moss, ferns, cascades, snowy mountains, a green river, and a trail of rolling hills. Perfect hike to enjoy beautiful scenery while avoiding snow.

The wta trail description appears to be outdated. There is no signed junction after the immediate right turn onto the Pratt River trail just beyond the bridge (the Middle Fork trail is closed due to a landslide) and there was no single switchback onto a logging railroad or moss-covered railroad ties. Instead the trail continues along a fairly gentle grade, with a few switchbacks down, varied scenery, and plenty of mud right now.

We walked about four miles before turning around. And besides the first trail (I’m assuming the Rainy Lake trail) at around a quarter mile, we only saw a couple small boot trails leading down to the river.
