Hiked counter-clockwise, taking the right fork at the trailhead. The trail is well marked and in overall good condition. We took the first right off the loop to check out the beach, then headed back up and proceeded on with the loop, which leads to a campground and a second beach access point. After the second beach the steepest uphill portion of trail begins, going through scenic forest and encountering multiple blowdowns. Several information signs throughout the trail providing interesting history lessons of this and the sorrounding islands.
