Afternoon hike 1.30pm to 4.30pm.
Had microspikes so enjoyed going up to Rainier viewpoint as well as poo poo point. Put on spikes about quarter mile from the viewpoint(Rainier view). Many folks with canvas shoes but I wouldn’t recommend it. Last stretch going up to poo poo point was particularly icy. Watched with concern as as one person tried butt sliding down the trail.
Beautiful sunny afternoon- very glad I decided to get to this trail.
